Vaccine Work

Among my professional accomplishments, the one I am proudest of is designing and outfitting a Pilot Plant near the Coralville, IA Campus of the University of Iowa. At that facility, I was in charge of the first eleven production runs of the vaccine, and material produced in those runs was used in several Phase 1 and one Phase 2a Clinical Trials.

 Technical Training

Training was key to the success of the project. My role was to design the processes we used to insure purity, safety, and stability. Others needed to train myself in sterile technique and Quality Control. Others were expert

at using specialized equipment, and they trained me so that I could assist at any step in the process. John Jarnigan (L) and I (R) are in the left photo and John and Gwen Jarosh are in the right photo.
